He's not all about money. According to one website, Hinn appeared on TBN in October 1999 to claim that God had given him a vision that thousands of dead people would be resurrected after watching the network - laying out a scenario of people placing their dead loved ones' hands on TV screens tuned into the station - and that TBN would be "an extension of Heaven to Earth." If that ever happened, it's been kept secret. Besides, I don't recall seeing any TVs in the funeral homes where I've been.

ORIGINAL: rawr.ben If I recall correctly, Benny Hinn and his "holy spirit machine gun" was something that he said in regards to someone who used to post in these forums (earthless, if some of you remember him). Whatever happened to earthless? He posted often until September 2009. I know he was being threatened with physical violence for exposing heresy. If one is not a heretic, resorting to violence seems to be the least likely way to respond to accusations. WOW! Was he? Maybe under a different nick?

Me suggestion: best you do a bit of reading of the thread and research before you go further..... 41 pages of Hinn-hating? No thanks. The youtube videos are food for thought though. Hard to tell if he was being sarcastic or not. Are you familiar with the Holy Ghost Enema sermon that Suzanne Hinn gave? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6bTBN6kdGw&feature=related

ORIGINAL: Binyamin I don't mean to say it's hatred in a malicious sense. But I can definitely sense ill will in this thread, at least going back the last 3-4 pages. I don't see the point of it. Yes, Hinn's comments were rude, tasteless, tactless and fantastically un-Christian. I wish I could challenge him on that, to be honest. But I'm not going to sit here and mock the poor fella's divorce situation. That's a low blow no matter who you're talking about. How about something actionable instead? His style of teaching, his actions, his blatant heresies have done great damage to the Church. I am not even getting into the fleecing of the sheep over the years either. On the Holy Ghost enema stuff be careful looking up videos because it has been spoofed and at least one in a not safe for work way.

Wow a thread dedicated to Benny Hinn. Well from reading a few posts it seems that Hinn is quite the object of Scorn. Concerning failed prohpecies, I don't see any reason to bash a person. I was reading Deueronomy 18:22 "when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him." Now as for teachings, I wholeheartedly agree that one should always keep a bible handy and verify things taught by any human being. I do however reccommend going to see him live, I personally haven't been to an event but plan on going. Usually admission is free and you just sign up ahead of time for seat reservations.

Benny Hinn and Paula White caught having an affair. Sadly, I'm not making this up. http://twitpic.com/288cb8/full

The National Enquirer started the Hinn/White story. Paula is responding to it on her website: In late May of this year, I went to tape a “This Is Your Day” broadcast with Pastor Hinn. Although I had not seen him in years, the taping gave us the opportunity to catch up on what has transpired in both of our lives. As someone who also endured a painful and public divorce, I was able to offer him insight and spiritual encouragement. Since that time we have continued to talk and our friendship has grown stronger but has remained morally and spiritually pure. I publicly profess and forcefully renounce assertions that the recent trip to Italy to meet with Vatican officials suggests that the friendship is in any way improper or morally impure .We traveled independently to the region for respective ministry duties and, while there, spent time together along with others. We were never alone and were in the constant company of staff and other associates. More at:LINk

Benny also has a refutation: And so I am writing to tell you today that I forcefully, categorically, and absolutely renounce the lies that have been spread about me and want to set the record straight with you. There is nothing inappropriate or morally improper about my friendship with Paula White. There has been no immorality whatsoever! More at: LINK

Benny Hinn’s ministry has posted a video on his website asking for money, and he says it’s urgent. Hinn claims he is facing a deficit of $2 million. He lives in a multi-million dollar mansion, but he has a need for $2 million more. Link In the video, Hinn has the audacity to say, “Two-million is not alot of money.” But, I guess when you are used to staying in penthouse suites, leaving $500 tips to the hotel staff, and driving a Rolls Royce, two-million dollars is just a drop in the bucket. Besides, supporting a soon to be ex-wife and a fellow WoF girlfriend can get expensive! Funny, if he truly believed the theology of his WoF cult, all he would have to do is "sow a seed" and reveice a hundred fold blessing in return!

Ah, Sox, you beat me to it. Just take a mortgage out on that house and stop expecting people on fixed incomes to send it to you.

It appears that ol' Benny was caught in a fib. Vatican says Benny Hinn and Paula White not Patrons of the Arts

ORIGINAL: 3cappuccinosmom Even if there is nothing to the affair reports (and National Inquirer really isn't a place I go if I'm looking for facts, kwim?), there's clearly a problem with him telling a very different story from the people he claimed to be hob-nobbing with. Actually, the National Inquirer seems to do pretty well regarding these issues. They cracked the John Edward's adultery case, and beat all other news outlets to get the scoop on the Presidential Pardons involving Hilary Clinton's brother.
