This is the pastor of the largest singapore church of more than 30,000 Kong Hee and YOU GUESSED IT- another prosperity drivel church says

Somewhere way back in the first half of this thread, I weighed in about the prosperity gospel, and even posted the Piper video Crankius recently posted (oh, and I just love Justin Taylor's blog). Man, that video can't be posted enough.
But I also want to add that understand the attitude that the poster Grace71 was referring to, and by the way, I'm typing this entry for myself -- a little self accountability if you will. I don't want to get on my high horse. There is a difference in speaking truth in love and speaking in arrogance. I hope the Lord keeps convicting me when I do the latter, and I believe He will. LOL

I had a touch of insomnia last night and decided to watch TV and was greeted with the WOF/Prosperity After Dark cavalcade. A few wolves I'd never heard of:
Dr. Todd Coontz. First of all his website is RockWealth.org if that tells you anything. He must have said the word 'seed' 100 times in 30 minutes. Isn't the seed in the Bible the gospel, and not a '1000 dollar Battle Seed'? Yes you read that right. And did you know by partaking of Todd's Fed-EX/UPS anointing (yep) from which he receives monthly checks you can have triple favor (is this a gameshow?) and the Niagra of favor will explode in a breakthrough? (Wow. All the buzz words in one.) He did mention an association with good ol' Benny.
Master Prophet E. Bernard Jordan. I'm sorry I thought the purpose of a prophet was to speak for God and not sit there with your family chanting phrases that glorify yourself while showing graphics of you in the clouds in a prayer pose. It was 17 minutes into a 30 minute program before the Lord was mentioned and then only by a woman giving her 'testimony' about how she obeyed THE PROPHET. Oh and to hear from the prophet, you need to sow your 'favor seed' (wow, a twofer!) And are there grades of prophet? What makes you a MASTER prophet?
All I can say is good thing this garbage isn't on during the day.

But I have made no use of any of these rights, nor am I writing these things to secure any such provision. For I would rather die than have anyone deprive me of my ground for boasting. For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!" - 1 Cor. 9:14-16 (ESV Bolded for emphasis)

Not sure what he point of you posting this is. If you are pro-prosperity gospel, then the verse doesn't apply because they are NOT preaching the gospel (Christ and him crucified). They are trying to use God like a cosmic slot machine to get what they want.
If you are posting this with an emphasis on the second part of the passage, then Amen! And it's a verse I never really read that much in depth before and thanks for posting!
