I just finished Going Rogue.

I was looking for a more political analysis than what I found. Sarah Palin's book is more about her life and the people in it. But it's perfectly legitimate for her have written the kind of book she did.

I didn't really warm up to the book until the section on Trig. There's something about adversity that brings out the depth in people. And the fact that she didn't start out with a positive, sunny disposition about this challenge means a lot to me. What means even more is that she was able to admit it in print.

That makes her a more three dimensional character that the one I've been exposed to. The way she's been portrayed in the media is as a buffoon unworthy of serious consideration. Or, occasionally, as a heroine without the kind of flaws the rest of us have. Neither of those portrayals have depth.

I realized last night that I need to make a correction. I had decided to read "The Napoleon of Notting Hill" rather than "The Man Who Knew Too Much", both by Chesterton. Somehow, I had forgot and wondered why my Napoleon didn't seem to know so much, so I checked the title.

I just finished the third Vince Flynn book "Separation Of Powers" and am now reading "The Map - The Way Of All Great Men" by David Murrow. It's the follow up to "Why Men Hate Going To Church". Interesting because it starts out as a suspense novel, then halfway it switches to non-fiction.

I finished Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers - it was excellent - so much that I am really looking forward to getting the companion one 'Sons of Encouragement'. Hopefully our local Christian bookshop will have it if I go in tomorrow, but if not I'll order it.

In the meantime, I'm still halfway through the first volume of 3 Arabian Nights. And someone lent me Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem so I must make the most of that while I have it.

I went on a spree - picked up the Sons of Encouragement from our Christian bookshop, plus a reduced one on Acts of the Apostles (a paraphrase with commentary), and a secondhand one that is short stories vaguely spiritual with a theme of love - various authors, which I've started on since I was out had a coffee in Maccydees and read a couple there. (can't remember the title though)

Also browsed around the charity shops and have quite a few others to look forward to, so I am really spoiled for choice atm :)

Well out of my myriad of new to me books, I went for one by Adeline Yen Mah, called Chinese Cinderella.

I've nearly finished it already, so probably starting yet another one very soon..... :)

Besides the Bible, I am currently reading the book "Spiritual Leadership" by Henry and Richard Blackaby.

I recommend it! A Must-Read! A book filled with great and numerous insights/advices. I would say it's more on for building character and living as a 'true' christian (Christ-like).

Other books I highly recommend are "What to Wear to the War" and "The Strategy of Satan" by Warren W. Wiersbe. I also love the classic "Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.

Just remember to stay open and listen what they have to say.

Enjoy ~

The hedgehog book I mentioned earlier is called The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. I finished it and enjoyed it.

Now I'm reading A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick.
