and others right now I'm reading Treasure Island I'm trying to finish it so that I can go on to Emma!

Just to let you know though that there's a group of us talking about what books we're reading at the moment in a thread called, "What Are You Currently Reading?" I finished "Unseen Academicals" and was very pleased with it. Now I'm reading the new Spenser mystery, "The Professional".

I was looking at the other one... I posted only a few weeks ago. LOL I finished Hood by Stephen R. Lawhead. Now I'm going to read Madeline L'engle's Swiftly Tilting Planet I wanted something simple and short while I wait for the second book in the King Raven series... which I am loving.

Did you know that he did soundtracks to most of his books?

I'm reading When Brute force Fails: How to have Less Crime and Less Punishment. I just finished The Myth of the Rational Voter: Why Democracies Choose Bad Policies.

I don't really get into fiction any more.

I'm reading crazy love by Francis Chan and than Pearl by Lauraine Snelling that's my entertainment book. :)

I have read Crazy Love and Forgotten God, both by Francis Chan, and they are both very moving!!! I have also read Fearless by Max Lucado, Battle Ready by Steve Farrar, and am currently reading Christianish by Mark Steele.

I highly recommend any of these books as they are all good faith building books.

interesting. i'll be looking those up. personally, i think the mediaeval world-view is actually pretty closely related to a lot of postmodern expressions of culture.

but then that's just me.

I just started reading the Left Behind series. Never read it before. I'm halfway through the second book now. I know that it's somewhat unpopular with some people on the board, but I'm enjoying it!

I am also reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan.

He is very good and the whole chapter about "Lukewarm Christians" is very eye-opening and challenging. It really seemed to hit home with me. I have been hoping there were others out there reading this book and maybe we could get its own thread to go deeper with discussion about this book. I can't recommend it enough for people to read.

hmm... that's an interesting theory. i'll have to see if i pick up on that trend in what i'm reading. right now i'm in the one on the village. the worldview isn't as explicitly explained. it's more of a historical overview, rather than a detailed treatise/examination.

and i've discovered that the sort of society i envisioned is probably late middle ages to early renaissance, rather than the height of the medieval era. oh well. the research will still come in handy for last year's NaNoWriMo novel that barely got off the ground.

I just finished reading People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks for the second time this year. I read it in March and again this month for my book group. If you haven't read anything by this author, do. She is fabulous. She also wrote March and Year of Wonders (both of which are also excellent).

Now I'm reading The Time Traveler's Wife.


BTW, I appreciated the blah, blah, blah as well.[:D]

I really like the idea of discussing this book, or any book for that matter of fact. I think it is good to bounce how you interpret something vs. how someone else might.

OK, Just felt as if I had to report back. I am on the third time around for The Naked Gospel, (Andrew Farley) Zondervan/Amazon Sep 29, 2009, so.. still reading. It will be my constant companion for a long long time.
